Chelsea Barracks is delighted to announce its participation in Belgravia in Bloom 2026 with The Fairy Crossing - an immersive floral installation transforming Whistler Square into a magical woodland-inspired world of flowers, scent and storytelling.
Belgravia in Bloom is an annual floral festival held throughout London’s Belgravia neighbourhood, coinciding with the world-renowned RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Each year, the festival transforms the area’s streets, boutiques and restaurants with extraordinary floral displays and immersive installations, celebrating horticulture, creativity and sustainable design. Drawing visitors from across London and beyond, the event has become one of the capital’s most anticipated moments in the cultural and floral calendar.
In Collaboration with LVF Creative Studio
As part of this year’s celebrations, Chelsea Barracks has partnered with celebrated floral design studio LVF Creative Studio to create a dreamlike installation inspired by enchanted forests and childhood fairytales, inviting visitors into a world of colour, scent and imagination in the heart of Belgravia.
Founded by Lucy Vail, the award-winning London studio is known for immersive floral installations inspired by art, architecture and nature, creating multi-sensory experiences that blur the line between floristry and storytelling. Working seasonally and sustainably, LVF has partnered once again with Chelsea Barracks to bring this year’s Belgravia in Bloom vision, The Fairy Crossing, to life.
The Fairy Crossing
Discover a touch of magic at Chelsea Barracks with The Fairy Crossing — a whimsical floral installation inspired by this year’s Belgravia in Bloom theme, “Fairy Tales in Belgravia”. Covered in beautiful blooms and surrounded by gentle mist and enchanting sounds, the fairy bridge invites visitors to step into a world of imagination and wonder.
Combining fresh flowers with handcrafted fabric petals, the installation creates a playful, dreamlike setting that feels as though it has appeared straight from the pages of a fairy tale.
Bringing The Fairy Crossing to Life
Installed within Whistler Square, The Fairy Crossing will transform the large water rill into a whimsical floral landscape inspired by enchanted forests and childhood fairytales.
A beautiful planted installation of colourful seasonal blooms will create a rich bed of colour flowing beneath a charming wooden bridge, painted in a soft green and illustrated with delicate flowers and dancing fairies. Visitors crossing the bridge will find themselves immersed in a sensory woodland world filled with scent, texture and colour.
Emerging from the floral planting, oversized flowers crafted from patterned and coloured fabrics will rise at varying heights to create a fantastical woodland of blooms - bringing movement and theatricality. Layered planting and woodland-inspired foliage will help create the feeling of a forest floor, with a variety of seasonal plants chosen to enhance the immersive atmosphere.
Behind the Scenes – The Making Of
The bridge itself has been intentionally designed with a simple structure, allowing the painted fairytale details to become the focal point, creating a magical scene for visitors to discover as they move through the installation. Positioned across the water rill in Whistler Square, the experience is designed to fully surround visitors with flowers and storytelling.
Behind the scenes, the installation is being carefully handcrafted by the LVF and The Haines Collection teams, with every detail thoughtfully considered, from the hand-painted bridge to the fabric flowers and seasonal planting palette.
The Haines Collection created the flowers using surplus luxury fabric, their mission – to help designers reduce waste and design lovers to decorate more sustainably.
