SUMMER IN THE SQUARE

London’s most esteemed neighbourhood, unveils ‘Summer in the Square’, transforming the development into a cultural hub for the season.
From July to September there will be art, weekend music performances and entertainment across Garrison Square and Mulberry Square for the public to enjoy.
What's On
From acoustic jazz, summer strings and Spanish guitar sets on Saturday afternoons, to refreshments served from bespoke bars in Garrison Square by the Barcelona-style restaurant The Campaner. Guests can also enjoy tapas bites and gelato from their custom-made carts. On Sunday afternoons, The Campaner will host a DJ on the terrace, playing a relaxed summer mix to help guests unwind into the evening.
Curated seating and sculptures have been designed by renowned local artist and furniture designer, Tom Faulkner and are located through Mulberry Square and Garrison Square.

Following the ongoing success of our much-loved Annual Spring Fair, we’re excited to celebrate the Summer with something for all to enjoy. As ever, Chelsea Barracks is committed to creating a space for the community to connect and spend time in.
Dreaming Spires by Tom Faulkner
This will be the first and largest exhibition of a mixed body of Tom's work (indoor and outdoor fusion pieces) ever, and will be the debut of his new Wave sculptural bench design. It will also be the first time the much-loved Lily design will be shown in its new outdoor iteration.
This installation spotlights timeless design and enduring craftsmanship, with clean lines and distinctive silhouettes consisting of Arizonia Needles and interactive seating thoughtfully placed throughout the development.

I wanted these sculptural pieces to fit in with their surroundings and stand out at the same time, their own geometry echoes the clean and crisp surrounding architecture of Chelsea Barracks. For example, the Arizona Needles have been thoughtfully positioned to emerge out of the planting like striking geometric trees, and as a group, along with the church of St Barnabas’s in the distance, they have formed their very own collection of dreaming spires.
