Christy : Official Wimbledon Partner

Proud creators of sumptuous home textiles since 1850, Christy is a heritage British brand born in Manchester. Built on a rich tradition of premium cotton innovation, Christy’s towels, bed linen, loungewear and accessories are designed to transform everyday routines into revitalising rituals.

The story begins with founder Henry Christy, who returned from Istanbul in 1850 with a small sample of fluffy, looped towelling fabric. Inspired by its unique softness and absorbency, he developed the first industrial terry loom to recreate the fabric for British homes, laying the foundations for a company that has brought comfort and warmth to generations.

With a pioneering spirit at its heart, Christy has a long history of innovation. From supplying Queen Victoria’s household with its revolutionary terry cotton towels to introducing the first beach robes in the 1920s, the brand has continually pushed the boundaries of textile design. Today, that same forward-thinking approach continues through modern weaving technologies and thoughtfully designed collections for contemporary living.

As the official towel supplier to the Wimbledon Championships since 1987, Christy has become synonymous with one of Britain’s most iconic sporting events. Each annual Wimbledon collection celebrates the heritage, prestige and enduring appeal that unite these two historic British institutions.
